This photo of Mother Teresa was taken during her visit to New Bedford, Massachusetts in 1995. It was given to me by the Saint Aidan Cancer Support Group, and was the photo I had imprinted on one of Corey’s undershirts after the Doctor’s news that Corey could not be cured. My mother-in-law, had heard from her sister in California, that someone had been cured of a cancerous tumor when a photo of Mother Teresa was placed over the area of the tumor. At this time, as sick as Corey was, I had a difficult time convincing him to rest during treatments. He kept up as active a pace that he was able to during all of his chemotherapy treatments; so I knew I wouldn’t be able to keep him in one place long enough to lay the photo over any area!! It seemed like a natural idea to have the photo printed on something he wore everyday – an undershirt – so the photo would lay close to his body, over his lungs, where the remaining tumors were located. Corey wore the undershirt everyday -- removing it only to be washed. I truly believe with all my heart that the combination of all my prayers, novenas& rosaries I faithfully prayed, Mother Teresa’s intercession, and Dr. Forman’s choice to try an outdated combination of chemotherapy drugs all worked together for Corey to be healed.

Please feel free, if you too are inspired by Mother Teresa, to print out this photo and do the same. I encourage you to pray from your heart to her. I have also included here a couple of beautiful prayers that I happened upon during Corey’s illness.

PRAYER FOR MOTHER TERESA’S INTERCESSION:
Jesus, you made Mother Teresa an inspiring example of firm faith and burning charity, an extraordinary witness to the way of spiritual childhood, and a great and esteemed teacher of the value and dignity of every human life. Grant that she may be venerated and imitated as one of the Church’s canonized saints.
Hear the request of all those who seek her intercession.
May we follow her example in heeding your cry of thirst from the Cross and joyfully loving you in the distressing disguise of the poorest of the poor, especially those most loved and unwanted.
We ask this in Your name and through the intercession of Mary, your Mother and the Mother of us all. Amen

PRAYER OF BLESSED TERESA OF CALCUTTA
Heavenly Father, You blessed mother Teresa with gifts of love and compassion so she could spend her life in service for the poorest of the poor. May we imitate her examples of holiness by sharing our faith and reaching out to those in need.
O Blessed Teresa of Calcutta, so compassionate were you toward the sick, the hungry and the unwanted. Your heroic virtues and the graceful faithfulness in which you lived as a servant of God are beautiful examples of your love and union with Him.
We rejoice in your beatification and we praise and thank our loving God for your life and generosity. Help us to follow the Gospel as faithfully and lovingly as you did. Amen.

God, our loving Father, You have given us a beautiful example of love in action through Your daughter, Mother Teresa. In her life she showed us how to follow Jesus by loving and serving others. She joyfully fed the hungry, rallied for the poor and unwanted, cared for the sick and dying, and sheltered the homeless. May we imitate her love and generosity by reaching out to Your needy ones. Thank You for the gift of Mother Teresa. May she now rest in Your arms eternally. Amen.
